Food processing industry
As much as we need food to live as important is the mean of cleanliness in food processing industry to us because food and health are very closely related. Food is a frequent source of poisonings and diseases which requires our attention in three stages: processing, storing and serving. All these stages merge into food production industry.
Clean production in food processing industry means working surfaces are not contaminated with hazardous chemical substances, particles and especially dangerous microorganisms. Processes are established in controlled conditions such as temperature, relative humidity or any other parameter if needed. The main task of cleanliness in food production industry is to prevent food poisoning and related diseases and to extend durability of food.
Food production facilities ensure clean production with short periodic cleaning and disinfection. The final product has to be carefully packed into a clean package (package is important part of food processing industry because food is usually stored in it for longer time period).
Food goes from food production facilities first to warehouse or even directly to market. At this stage, beside biological and chemical cleanliness, the most important parameter considered is the temperature of the environment. It requires special, normally artificial climate conditions and temperature monitoring.
When product is sold to the final user strict requirements of food processes more or less end. Buyer takes all responsibility of dealing with food. In reality fridge is still needed but there is no need for monitoring conditions in which food is stored. Serving food should be performed in appropriate clean dining room.
